Fresh Paint 6 / 2013

Fresh Paint 6 was held in a new logistics center in the South of Tel Aviv in May 2013. More than 34,000 visitors to the fair enjoyed the displays of Israel's leading contemporary art galleries alongside the fair's Independent Artists Greenhouse, which exhibited the bodies of works of some 50 promising artists.

On the fair's sixth year, Fresh Paint's team extends its activity to include the area of design by launching the new Fresh Design fair. The design fair presented professional projects by Israel's top designers and design galleries, production houses and brands, alongside a Design Greenhouse for up-and-coming designers. The two fairs – the established and familiar art fair, and the new and intriguing design fair – Were held on a single site, in separate venues, offering visitors double the experience for a single ticket.

ElhamRokni and MatanMittwoch, winners of Fresh Paint 5's Most Promising Artist award, held solo exhibitions at the fair. The IgalAhouvi Art Collection awarded the Most Promising Artist award for 2013again to two artists: Ella Littwitz and Amir Yatziv. LiatElbling's pair of works won Sotheby's Under the Hammer award.

The community project, "True Superheroes", a cooperation with Shalva association, Bezalel Academy and the Fishman Group, continued successfully, and the Secret Postcard project sold about 950 postcards and raised 170,000 NIS for outstanding students in the Tel Aviv Museum of Art's Meyerhoff Art Education Center program. For the first time that year, postcards were offered in a pre-sale through Marmelada Market website, a few days before the opening of the fair. 

Exhibited at the fair were commissioned works by artists RimmaArslanov& Roy Mordechay, PhilipRantzer&ItamarShimshony, and DrorDaum, and special projects by Loushi Art & Projects, Sapir College, Michel Platnic, AES+F, the CCA and Dina Shenhav.

The Fresh Paint Salon, supported by Outset contemporary art fund, was open to the public throughout the fair and offered a program of lectures and discussions with designers, curators and artists. Children's workshops were offered in collaboration with The Tel Aviv Museum of Art and the Reuven Rubin Museum.
