Martha Rieger’s new series of works concerns the potential movement held in images, shapes, bodies, and identities: fragments of mass produced Chinese ceramic wares create topographies encased in iron egg-shaped cages. Alongside these, duplicated shapes of porcelain butterflies form a poetic dance that breaks free from the confines of the frame.
