Mix the City is an award winning interactive platform initiated by the British Council in collaboration with the BBC’s The Space. Mix the City invites people from all over the world to create their own remix of 12 tracks by local musicians and ensembles, recorded and sampled by Kutiman.

Since its launch in Tel Aviv in March 2015, Mix the City has been remixed and shared by 500,000 people in 190 countries.

In March this year, the project was also launched in Istanbul, Turkey. Local musicians selected by Kutiman were filmed and recorded in different sites across the city, and now the platform users can create a music video of Istanbul and share it on social media.
