Roy Mordechay and Rimma Arslanov, two practicing artists who share a studio in south Tel Aviv, maintain their separate careers while sometimes collaborating on creating joint works. At the same time, the two have been living together as a couple for over a decade.

For their special project at Fresh Paint 6, the artists had created “R+R=R” – a video -based animation work dealing with the couple’s complex relationship, in which the borderlines between the professional and the personal often get blurred. The work centres on a collection of scenes starring a pair of plasticine figures representing “Mini Rimma” and “Mini Roy”, describing the two way leakage between the private and the professional relationship, from an ironic point of view on “the art history of couples”.
