After Bacon / Fresh Paint 6 / Project
In this project Michel Platnic briought to life scenes from Francis Bacon's paintings. In a meticulous working process Platnic built three-dimensional models that form the setting for the video works and photographs featured in the series. In the transition from Bacon's characters, through his paintings, to Platnic's film sets, the physical dimensions are changed and reformulated. The transitional mechanisms of human perception, which remember, image, and structure reality, operate in a similar way. Platnic created living environments out of new points of view which reveal possible dimensions of reality.
Michel Platnic, born in France, 1970, graduated with honours from Hamidrasha School of Arts and exhibits in galleries and museums in Israel and abroad. Written by: Adiya Porat
